Inside Out Day!! Have a wonderful weekend Falcon Families!
Mrs. Bruni's second grade class hosted their last parent job presentation today. Mrs. Vostatek came in to talk to the class about working at a bank. She brought in a piggy bank with some uncommon money ($2 bill, gold dollar, half dollar) for the kids to look at. She talked about working with the community and helping people who get scammed. She also told the class that she developed her bank's online app - how cool is that! Additionally, she brought the class some cool shades and a change pouch. Thanks, Mrs. Vostatek!!
At the PTO Spring Dinner and Auction, Gio, a Salem sixth grader, won the open gym raffle and was able to spend extra time in the gym yesterday with some friends and Mr. Cates! They also received goodie bags from the Salem PTO!
Are you ready for Inside Out Day tomorrow?!

As the end of the school year approaches, we would like to take this time to remind you to pick up your child’s medication in the nurse’s office before the end of the last day of school (by June 2nd at 11:30am). It is preferred that medication be picked up by an adult. Since your medication is considered over the counter, we are able to send home with your student but will require permission from a parent/guardian.
Any medication not picked up will be discarded. Medications will NOT be stored at
school over the summer. As a reminder – medication administration forms must be
renewed annually.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Please help us welcome Ms. Kate Flanagan, our new Special Education Compliance Coordinator!
Kate received her undergraduate degree in Physical Education and Health Education from Carthage College. She began working as a Special Education Teacher in 2011 in Kenosha Unified while continuing her education at Carthage, pursuing and completing her Master’s Degree in Special Education and Educational Leadership.
During her time in Kenosha she had the opportunity to work in a variety of academic settings but was focused and dedicated to student social-emotional learning in their EBD setting. She then transitioned to Racine Unified and took on the role of Program Support Teacher and Diagnostician where she led professional development aligned with special education and school improvement plans, mentored and coached teachers on effective classroom strategies as well as conducted diagnostic work associated with special education evaluations.
Upon returning to Kenosha Unified in 2018, she took on her current role of Special Education Case Manager. As a Special Education Case Manager she has had the unique opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with classroom teachers, support staff and administrators to monitor IEP implementation, write initial, annual and reviewed IEPs as well as focus on building strong relationships with staff, students and the surrounding community.
Kate’s work is rooted in the belief that a school community built on positive and impactful relationships where students feel valued, safe and cared for is one that promotes the greatest opportunity and strongest foundation for student growth, engagement and learning.
