💖Each student in Ms. Smid's class took turns writing a kind word on their classmates' hearts, filling the room with positivity and encouragement! 📝❤️ A beautiful reminder that small words can make a big impact! 🌟 Ms. Smid also wrote a kind message for each student in her classroom and placed it on the door for them to see!

To kick off their shapes unit, Ms. Kennedy’s first grade students explored all the ways shapes can be sorted—by color, size, and shape! 🔴 Through hands-on learning and discovery, they had fun identifying patterns and organizing shapes in different ways.🔷

Mr. Rich Witt, our beloved honorary Salem greeter, now has a custom Falcon sign for his window—designed just for him by former Falcon student Savanna Briggs! 🎨
For 11 years, Mr. Witt has waved to students, families, and passersby, spreading joy and positivity every morning. His simple gesture has become a cherished tradition in our community.
Now, thanks to Savanna’s thoughtful design, his Falcon pride will shine even brighter! 💙

On Tuesday, April 1, our community will vote on a three-year, non-recurring operational referendum question for the Salem School District.
If it’s approved, the district will be able to raise its revenue limit by $2 million per year, through the 2027-28 school year. With these funds, the district would prioritize:
⭐ Maintaining class size ranges
⭐ Sustaining high-quality programming
⭐ Focusing on student success
⭐ Attracting and retaining high-quality educators
⭐ Ensuring long-term financial sustainability
An approved renewal of the operational referendum is NOT projected to have a levy rate increase.

Last week, students worked with Mrs. Ambrose to learn about emotions—how they can have different intensities and how we can feel more than one at a time.
Using plates, they labeled 6 emotions and placed pebbles to show how much of each feeling they’ve been experiencing lately. Then, they turned it into a game of hopscotch! If a pebble landed near a plate, they shared a time they felt that emotion before hopping to grab their pebble.
Such a fun and creative way to explore emotions! 💙
