Thanks to Mrs. Kate Flynn, Salem School Psychologist, several spaces around Salem now feature powerful new posters that highlight successful individuals with disabilities — reminding our students that their differences are their strengths. These posters were thoughtfully created by Mrs. Flynn to empower students with disabilities to celebrate their unique strengths and show them that success is possible in many forms. Having a disability does not limit one's potential - many individuals, including highly successful people from all walks of life, have thrived while embracing their differences. The posters feature celebrities and public figures with disabilities so students at Salem can see themselves reflected in inspiring role models. Seeing others who share similar experiences achieving great things allows students to feel more confident to reach their own potential and dreams! This week the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department hosted their Annual Deputy Friendly Banquet! Fourth-grade students throughout Kenosha County schools created a safety poster and essay. Judges selected one winner from each fourth-grade classroom. The contest winners were honored at the banquet and were also awarded a bike to recognize their positive achievements!
