This week we welcomed our new Salem Staff!😍 They kicked off the week by meeting with their mentors and our administrators, getting to work in their classrooms, and today they are taking a school bus tour of the Salem Community! We are so excited to welcome them to our Salem family!

I live in Burlington with my son, Jack, and our Golden Retriever, Buddy. (yes, he is named after Buddy the Elf!) Who doesn’t love smelling the scent of chocolate in Burlington? I know I do! My son is a baseball player, so I suppose that makes me a baseball mom. I like to get outside and explore the land in my free time. That can include kayaking, hiking, golfing and of course, attending baseball games. We are Cubs, Brewers and Braves fans, but also root for the Milwaukee Milkmen and Lake Country Dockhounds.

"My wife, Beth, and I live in Waterford with our daughter Paige and our chocolate lab, Addie. I have 2 adult sons, Brad and Eric. I recently became a grandpa to an amazing little girl, Maisy. This will be my 29th Year of teaching middle School. I like kayaking, reading, and enjoy riding my motorcycle. I just got back back from a UP camping trip. We rode for about 1,100 miles in 4 days!"

ASBO International (Association of School Business Officials) is the international professional association that encompasses WASBO, the Wisconsin ASBO affiliate and provides programs, resources, services, and a global network to school business professionals who are passionate about quality education.
The Emerging Leaders Scholarship recognizes new school business professionals with five years or less experience and provides them with exclusive training and a strong network of peers and mentors. Scholarship recipients receive $2,000 to attend ASBO's Annual Conference which this year will be held in Portland, OR. Mr. Guzman is very excited to attend and represent the Salem School District and WASBO at this year's conference!

I have a daughter who is attending college at MIAD and thoroughly enjoys the arts and education she is receiving. I am new to the area from Oshkosh. Salem and the surrounding area are beautiful! I love spending time with my daughter, spending time on the lake, and attending community events.

My husband, Chris, and I live in Salem. We have a son and daughter that both attended Salem and have moved on to Central High School. Through their grade school years I was very involved with the Salem PTO, Cub/Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I love being an active part of the community.
I enjoy spending time with my family and being active outdoors. I like to bike, hike and take my dog for walks. I also love to travel and road trip. I'm heading to Germany this September and hope to road trip to the upper eastern states next year!"
