Seal-A-Smile at Salem!🦷🧑⚕️🪥
Salem School is very excited to partner with the Kenosha County Health Department to offer a preventative dental program for all children K-5th grades, which is funded by WI Seal A Smile! 😁 They are here at Salem on four different dates in October to check out our Salem student smiles!
The goal of the Seal a Smile Program is to bring dental prevention services directly to children in the elementary schools in our Kenosha County community. Many children lack a dental home and access to dental care, including necessary prevention, hygiene, and oral health education services. The Seal-A-Smile program provides those needs as well as oral health assessments, dental sealants, and fluoride applications to teeth, from kindergarten through fifth grade – all at no cost to families.

It's a Harvest of Good Books🎃🍂 in our Middle School Library! 📖
Mrs. Perttula has been working with her Middle School students to create book posters for some of the amazing books they have been reading! Check out a few samples of their work, and give them a thumbs up for their creativity!

📣Go Falcons!!📣
We LOVE to have our Falcon students stay after school to cheer on our Salem teams! As a reminder to our parents/guardians, students do need written permission to stay after school on game nights.
Tonight is our first Home game for our Salem Girls Basketball team!🏀 Today ONLY - Students will be allowed to call home until 2:45pm for permission to stay after for the game. After that, students will need one of the two: an email to Brady Willkomm before 2:45pm on a game day or a written note. They will not be able to call after the first game day. Good luck to our basketball teams tonight!!

📅Falcon Families - Mark your calendars!📷

📅Salem Families and Salem Community Members - You're Invited!!📅
On Thursday, October 13th, we invite our entire Salem community to participate in our Strategic Planning Community Engagement Event from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Salem School. You do not need to have a student currently attending Salem to attend this event, but you must be a resident of the Salem School District, a Staff Member at Salem, or have a child who is open-enrolled at Salem. At this event we will dig into issues that impact not only our current and future students, staff, and families, but our entire community in order to help us further our Strategic Planning Process.
There is strong evidence that property value improves when the “health” of the local public school improves. This opportunity is not only an investment in our children’s future but your pocketbook, so please invite your neighbors to come out to Salem on the 13th to engage in the great conversation!
A Subway Dinner will be available beginning at 5:00pm prior to the event. If you are interested in attending, please make sure to RSVP below by Monday, October 10th at 10am.

Our Kindergarten classes had a special surprise for Dr. King's office today to help her celebrate her birthday, which was this weekend! They had so much fun filling her office with balloons this morning!🎈

Many of you may recognize Mrs. Carney, a former Salem Kindergarten teacher! She will be filling in for Mrs. Ambrose while she is on Maternity Leave, beginning in October. Please give her a warm welcome back to Salem❤️
